New Relavel Makeup Backpack Thoughts + Comparison

I recently started collaborating with a brand that makes really amazing makeup bags that are very easy to keep organized. Prior to our collaboration I tried all the bags they’ve made. I tried the small makeup case, I’ve currently got their large case, I also tried the XL and when we started collaborating I was glad to try their brush holder and of course I got really excited to try the latest bag they’ve started to make – the makeup backpack and I wanted to share my thoughts on all of them.

Just a small disclosure I currently have 2 kits one of which is a Relavel large case and the other one is a Burton Flight Deck.

So the small Relavel makeup case is made mostly for personal use, it’s really sturdy and would fit all the skincare and essentials, makeup and probably jewelry you need for traveling (speaking for myself here because I travel pretty light).

The XL bag is very sturdy and it is truly XL, I’ve fit everything I usually put into my burton and there was still some room to spare. The biggest deal breaker for me is that it’s deep enough to have all concealers, lip glossed, mascaras and similar products standing. The only downside is that, I wouldn’t be able to simply carry it around easily, because it ended up being around 40 lbs. I tried fitting it inside of the suitcase because the idea of a neatly organized case is so appealing but it ended up being way too big for it.

I love the Large one because it fit my whole kit, that I use for personal clients and smaller jobs, apart from brushes and it’s still pretty lightweight to carry around.

When I got the backpack my first thought was that it’s awesome to have the same configuration of an organized makeup case in a backpack because the weight is going to be redistributed evenly as opposed to the one-shoulder strap cases.

It has a USB charger built into it so it’s pretty neat though I think that it probably affects the weight of the bag which is 6.59 lbs. The bag has a lot of pockets which is pretty neat, I think that the pockets in the back can only be used for something flat like your business cards because when you’re putting anything out of shape there it kind of hurts your back.

The front pockets are more backpack style but I think that if those were more like a flap compartment on the makeup cases it could probably fit more stuff.

I LOVE the depth of the backpack, it’s a bit less deep than an XL bag but it still fits concealers, lip glosses, mascaras etc standing up. I fit almost everything from my Burton bag apart from some bigger palettes, PPE and brush sets, which is great but it ended up being 32 lbs which is still pretty heavy.

The design allows to open the back straps and lay the backpack flat on the table.

There’s a pocket to carry a rectangular box of tissues on one of the sides which close with a zipper and the other side has an open pocket which you can use for storing your brush case.

All in all I’ve decided to stick to my large case for smaller jobs and my Burton roller because even though the backpack is really neat it gets to be a bit to heavy for me so I’d prefer to take the weight off my back and put it on the wheels.

All things considered I think the backpack is a great idea for someone who’s looking for a deep bag like XL and also wants the convenience of having a backpack as opposed to a shoulder-strap bag.
