Blush is such an interesting topic: some people love it and can’t live without it, others are pretty much afraid of using it and I’ve also met some people who openly hate it.
I recently talked to Cali from POPSUGAR about all things blush related and she came out with an elaborate piece that might help you navigate in what can be a somewhat confusing world of blush.

Dos and Don’ts when assisting an agency makeup artist or hairstylist
Remember what you came for. To assist and be helpful first of all. Sometimes a job might be relatively easy so you wouldn’t even get to work on a model but there’s still a million ways you can be helpful to the artist even if it would be just grabbing a coffee/water while the artist is working. You can help setting up, breaking down, cleaning and sanitizing brushes and makeup. You need to learn how to “read the room” and also don’t chit chat too much with the production team or talents, there’s time for networking but that’s not your sole purpose when you go to assist.

At times such as this with pandemic just climbing to the peak behind your windows we definitely do one thing more than anything else: washing our hands. Soaping, lathering, rubbing, scrubbing, brushing and all the hot water inevitably lead to us having dry hands. Also being a makeup artist sanitation is key to your job safety so using a lot of alcohols on your hands is inevitable which only affects your skin even worse.

Get a cup of water. I like having a cup of water on the side and using running water for rinsing only to prevent excess water waste.
Get your soap. I like using a charcoal soap from Beautyblender, great options as well are: The Masters Brush Cleaner and Preserver which you can get at any art/craft store and plain Dr Bronner's castile soap, I prefer to have a soap that isn’t scented which helps to bring the chance of allergic reactions to a minimum.
How to Prep Your Skin For Makeup
I will probably never get tired saying that to get great results you need to be prepared! Same rule applies to getting your face ready before applying makeup.
It really seems easy and quick to slap some foundation on and head out the door but then you can find out that it doesn’t behave you foundation can move about during the day and dissolve in some places or even oxidize on your skin (change color slightly). It’s really important to prep your skin properly before foundation and it goes beyond just applying moisturizer.
